‘Pedalling In The Fast Lane’ is the opening gambit of a new force in live music. A sparkling 5 piece horn section, a kicking rhythm section and backing singers to die for, this certainly is a monster band playing music guaranteed to make you want to dance and shake your ‘thang.’ Led by the experienced hand of Amaziah Davis, MOOOSE deliver a stunning evening of powerful music with thought provoking lyrics.
The music of MOOOSE is based upon the big band sound of Parliament and the funk bands of the 70’s but because of Sean’s wide range of musical influences there are some reggae style tracks, African, hip hop and even (shock horror) a jazz track. The emphasis of the music is to inspire people to get into the groove, dance and have a great time but there is also a commentary aspect to the lyrics with a view to raising awareness on various social and political issues. For example the song ‘Change’ was inspired by and written about the turmoil and genocide in East Timor that was ignored/covered up by the media.
